gap:comms Placement Review | Gap Year 2020/21

We are now coming closer to the end of the academic year, meaning that my gap year will be ending in just a few months. With my placement finishing yesterday, I am now reflecting on how the last year has been. Not only has this gap year been unique, in that it has all been online, but also because I am the first SU Scotland gap year to do the gap:comms placement.

Ukrainian English Club – A new venture

After Easter, we embarked on a new venture: running a weekly hour-long English club for Ukrainian children and young people on Zoom, in partnership with our friends in Open Bible. Centres Update March 2021 | Gowanbank

...about to welcome our first primary school for their school residential with us when things came to a standstill with COVID-19. We were disappointed. But we needed to be still and see God exalted at Gowanbank and in Ayrshire.

Bible Reflections | God's Got This

We have been going through the God's Got This resource that was written last term for SU groups to use during these restricted months, which includes narratives about Joseph, Elijah and Paul, all who lived through some sort of lockdown experience. Of course, the good news is in the title: God’s got this… he really does!

Centres Update February 2021 | Alltnacriche

When the government announced that Level 4 restrictions would continue in January, we reached out to our local primary schools, and with the support of our local Rotary Club, we offered a four-week programme to those who were finding restrictions particularly challenging.
