WILL YOU JOIN US in praying during our DAY OF PRAYER?
Our January Day of Prayer allows us a day to focus on God, celebrate and praise him for who he is and all he has done, pray into present challenges and seek his face for future guidance.
Our Day of Prayer will be happening on Thursday 18 January 2024, with the theme Simply Pray. Jesus taught the disciples how to pray in Matthew 6:5-18. Our downloadable Prayer Guide will explore this passage and use it as a springboard to pray for SU Scotland ministry.
Wherever you are, whoever you are, however little or much time you have to spare - we'd love you to join us. There are different ways you can engage. Pray personally; pray with others. Please pray!
Praying at a regular church meeting
If you have a prayer group or a church Bible Study on Thursdays then you might like to mention SU Scotland for prayer. You might like to show our brand-new video introducing SU Scotland, called Hello! We are SU Scotland! or The downloadable Prayer Guide contains topics for prayer you can then share with others. Finish with Lighting up Scotland - a more reflective video based on Psalm 119:105.
Across the country different groups will be gathering either on Zoom or in person to pray for SU Scotland, both nationally and locally. Check the list below to see if there is one covering where you live.
If your region happens not to have its own prayer event, feel free to join in any of the others!

Some regions have scheduled prayer gatherings all year round, so if you want to find out more, email your Regional Worker for more information or check our Events Page (NB: not all prayer gatherings are listed on our Events page).
Our Prayer Guide is based on Matthew 6:5-18, the Bible passage chosen for the 2024 Day of Prayer. It explores Jesus' teaching on prayer and follows the themes as inspiration to praise and pray for our current needs. Suitable for individual use, it can also be emailed to others ahead of a prayer meeting.
Go for a walk around your town or village. Plan a route that takes in schools, churches and homes of families you know. Pray for places and individuals as you walk by, and spend time lifting up to God your Regional or Associate Worker and SU ministry in your area.
If you find that music helps you in worship and prayer, we have put together some playlists on spotify and youtube - see below.
