SU Scotland appoints Head of Digital!

SU Scotland’s vision is to see every child and young person in Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus.

In an increasingly connected world, how can we use digital innovation to reach a generation? Young people are the ‘digital natives’, born into an age of online education, entertainment and social engagement. This challenging environment provides many opportunities for how we might increase our reach and impact, such as

  • making contemporary, dynamic content which creatively communicates God’s love for young people
  • inspiring a new generation of young people to engage with and share God’s story, using the technology in their hands
  • Exploring fresh expressions of ministry, built around the timeless truths about who God is and what he has done for us in Jesus

To help us develop this ambitious strategy, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Jenny Hamill as SU Scotland’s first Head of Digital.

Jenny’s heart for excellence in how we engage with children and young people, brought her to SU Scotland in 2018 when she joined our National Ministries team as a regional worker. More recently, Jenny combined her previous professional experience in marketing and events with that of frontline ministry, helping to develop the innovative Colour in Easter and Light up Christmas digital resources in partnership with SU Ireland. The impact of these digital projects, coupled with an ambitious new strategy to connect with thousands more children and young people over the next three years, has helped ignite a passion to push the boundaries of what can be achieved through new and emerging technologies in fulfilment of our vision.

This is an incredibly innovative phase in SU Scotland’s history, and we look forward to seeing how God leads us!
