One of our core values at SU Scotland is dependence on God – we are so aware of how much we need his direction, wisdom, and power! Not surprisingly, then, prayer forms a key element of all we do.
We want to see increasing prayer both for and among, Scotland's children and young people. To this end, we offer both resources and events. We particularly want to see an increase in prayer for schools, so that every school becomes a prayed for school.
We invite you to join us in not only celebrating what God has done over the last year and spending time in thanksgiving, but also in praying for our current needs and ongoing ministry.
Wherever you are, whoever you are, however little or much time you have to spare - we'd love you to join us.
Pray for the ministry of SU Scotland every day with the SU Scotland prayer diary. Sign up to receive a printed prayer diary. Alternatively, view it on your phone, have it mailed to your inbox, or email pray@suscotland.org.uk to receive a monthly email at the end of each month with forthcoming, current and urgent prayer points. We are grateful for your prayers, and very much depend on them.
Schools are huge influencers of our young people: we need to get praying! Our vision is to mobilise Christian communities throughout Scotland to support their local school communities in prayer. The apostle Paul entreats us to do so in 2 Timothy 2:1... "I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."
Currently 61% of Scottish schools are registered with us as being prayed for (an encouraging 88% of secondary schools!) but we long that every school would be a prayed for school. Can you help spread prayer cover to the remainder? Can you - or your church - pray and care for your local school(s) in this way? The Pray for Schools vision is to see every school a prayed for school. If you are already praying for a school or can commit to do so, find out how you can help us grow this number. Register your prayers today!
We love it when people come together to pray: children, young people, SU Groups, families, SU Holiday teams and adult prayer supporters. Find out more about our Encounter youth prayer events for P7-S6s, our SU Scotland Day of Prayer, Back to School with God Sunday.
During the school summer holidays we run a prayer hotline - a vital way of supporting the ministry of SU Holidays and missions. We'd be delighted if you could get involved in praying throughout the holidays - or for a particular week.
Would you pray more if you had others to inspire you and pray with you? Across the country there are lots of groups who meet once a month, or once a term, to focus prayer on the ministry of SU Scotland or to pray for their local schools.
