Gap Year 2023/24

Thank you for reading about my gap year. I have decided to do a gap year with SU Scotland because I would like to explore my faith more, grow as a Christian whilst also having fun! I am looking forward to all the different things I will be learning, as well as all the people I’m going to meet. I am hoping to develop my confidence, my planning skills, as well as my Bible knowledge.

In my spare time I like to spend time with friends, chatting and getting to know people, as well as playing Xbox games. I also enjoy badminton and volunteering at a local SU Group.

I have opted for the gap:centre placement and I will be spending the year at Gowanbank, SU’s residential centre in Ayrshire. I will be involved with the catering and house teams, working in the kitchen and keeping the centre tidy and  well maintained. I will also be helping the Schools’ Co-ordinator welcome schools to Gowanbank, and with their daily, “thought for the day”. As well as this, there will be training and study, wider SU events, SU Holidays and Holiday Clubs.
