Lois Craig
Thank you for reading about my gap year. I am excited about the year ahead of me.
I decided to do the SU Scotland Gap Year as I want to pursue a future working in children’s and youth ministry, and this looked like a great way to gain experience, learn new skills, and grow in my faith. All whilst being part of a supportive team, spurring me on in this journey.
I am excited about meeting new people, being placed in new situations, and getting to spread the Good News God has gifted us. I have loved attending events like Magnitude Worship Nights and Equip West myself, and so am looking forward to experiencing these as a leader and bringing young people to them. I hope that throughout the year I will become better at answering and responding to unknown situations. As well as growing and strengthening my own faith.
In my spare time I love drama, meeting with friends, reading and attending church groups.
I have opted for the gap:church placement where I will be based with my church, Kirkintilloch Baptist Church. Working with children and young people, helping with their community events, and going into local schools to help run clubs and assemblies. As well as this, there will be training and discipleship, wider SU events, camps and holiday clubs, and an international mission trip.
