I am excited about the year ahead of me. I chose to do this specific Gap Year with Scripture Union Scotland because of the past experiences I’ve enjoyed at SU’s centres. From school residential, to holidays and last summer as a trainee leader. When I decided to take a Gap Year I wanted to do something purposeful, and this felt like an opportunity to develop both spiritually and personally whilst contributing to something important.
I’m excited to join the team at Lendrick Muir and spend this year in a Christian environment. I have learned how significant the welcoming environment at LM is for many, myself included, and I look forward to being able to help create that for others.
Over the year I hope to be able to develop my relationship with God and to grow in independence through all the new experiences. I also hope this will help me discern God’s plans for my future.
In my spare time I enjoy running and sailing, as well as playing tenor drum in a pipe band.
I have opted for the gap:centre placement where I will be based at Lendrick Muir. I will be working primarily with the schools team, welcoming schools to the centre. I’ll also help with activities and on the catering and house teams as we get the centre ready for each new group that comes in. There will also be training, wider SU events and SU Holidays.
