Jenny came to SU Scotland as the Regional Worker for Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Inverclyde in 2018, before moving into the position of Head of Digital in 2022.  Jenny now leads the Creative Team in SU Scotland, continuing to oversee Digital, alongside Communications and Magnitude events. She lives on the Southside of Glasgow with her husband Mark and three kids - Joel, Gracie and Sarah.

'I started out in Events Management, where I was able to combine my love of the Arts with my tendency to want to organise things… nothing much has changed! When I took time out to raise a family and started working for the local church as a Children and Families worker, I always found myself being drawn into community projects, small business ventures and ministry where my role was the same - to work for excellence in delivery of an idea. I believe we are all made in the image of a creator God and therefore excel and find joy in the process of being creative ourselves. SU Scotland has an amazing legacy of bringing God's Word to children and young people and it is my privilege to serve with a team whose goal is to point people to Jesus and show them who he is, in the most creative ways possible.

As we follow God’s leading in all this, we are constantly seeking God in prayer and looking to his Word for wisdom. Psalm 96 is an exhortation to ‘sing a new song’ to the Lord, among the nations, among all peoples. When I read this recently, I was struck by how easy this is in our modern world. Whether it is on social media platforms or sending out video content on YouTube, we have unlimited reach within our grasp. So, what is it we actually want to say? What is our message? Psalm 96 makes three appeals. Firstly, we are to ‘proclaim his salvation’ (v2), the story of his great rescue, that in his mercy he made a way for us to be reconciled to himself for all eternity. Secondly, we are to ‘declare his glory’ and finally, ‘his marvellous deeds’ (v3). What a remit! We are to show the children and young people of Scotland his glory – who he is: his splendour, his holiness and the marvellous works of his hands. The reason we do this is simple, for he is great and worthy to be praised (v4). It is our prayer that we will be faithful to the words of this psalm and say among the nations ‘The Lord reigns’ (v10), and that our ‘new song’ will be a fresh expression of ministry using creativity and digital means, built on timeless truths he has revealed to us.'
