Erin Munday
Thank you for reading about my gap year. I decided to do a Gap Year with SU Scotland because Jesus has made such a difference in my life and I want to share His good news with others. Without faith, I’m just a 17 year old girl who gets really annoyed at life when it doesn’t go her way and is fighting constantly to find this fragile thing called happiness that the world offers. With faith, I am able to recognise that I was created by a God who loves me, brings me joy, and wants to grow me. I’m excited about the year ahead of me, getting to dedicate my time to sharing Jesus with other young people and getting to see the change Jesus is making in their lives too.
It can be so difficult to be a follower of Jesus as a young person in this generation, so I’m looking forward to getting to know the young people and walking with them in faith. I’m also hoping to learn more about how to talk clearly about the Bible and the impact Jesus has on our lives.
In my spare time I love being creative in all sorts of ways, particularly drawing and crochet. I also love spending time with friends and family, and most of all Jesus!
I have chosen to do a gap:local placement with SU Scotland. I will be based in Glasgow. My placement will involve going into schools to help at SU groups, assemblies and RE lessons, community groups and working with local Churches and special events for Christmas and Easter. As well as using my creativity in ministry too, I will also have the opportunity to study for a qualification in Youth and Children’s Work. There will be other training and discipleship, opportunity to take part in wider SU events, camps and holiday clubs, and an international mission trip.
