Growing Lendrick Muir: The Planning Application has been submitted!
On 4 February we announced that we had big plans for Lendrick Muir, our much-loved and very well-used residential activity centre located in Rumbling Bridge near Kinross. The centre attracts over 11,000 visitors every year and demand is expected to continue to grow with the passing of the Schools Residential Bill promising all children in Scotland the opportunity to take part in a residential, together with the widely reported growing spiritual hunger among young people. As sections of the building at Lendrick Muir require replacement, we are taking the opportunity to create a striking new wing, designed to complement and connect with the existing mansion house, which will also undergo some remodelling.
We are now delighted to share the news that our Planning Application has just been submitted to Perth and Kinross Council. Centre Director, Paul Bayton, said: “We are very excited to have reached this significant milestone in the project, and this is huge credit to all members of our Project Team, Design Team and Project Board.”
Prayer is central to every step of this process as we seek God’s wisdom, guidance and blessing. Please join us in praying:
-
the validation process goes quickly (this is the first step in the planning process)
-
we have good engagement with the planners as we respond to their queries
-
that the local community would be supportive of the development
-
the planning process would be concluded quickly to allow the project to deliver on time
While the Planning Application is considered, the team move to the next stage, which is to prepare detailed designs for the Building Warrant Application. We hope to keep you posted every step of the way on this exciting journey.
