Growing Lendrick Muir: Planning Permission Granted!
We are thrilled that so many supporters have shown a keen interest in the planned development of our largest outdoor residential centre, Lendrick Muir. As many of you know, we submitted a planning application in March. We are now able to share the fantastic news that planning permission was granted on Friday 12 June 2026. It was encouraging to learn that not only were there no objections from the local community, but the local community council also submitted a letter of support. The Planning Officer’s report noted: "The proposed extension is an architect led design of high-quality that respects the listed building."
Gaining this permission represents a milestone reached in the process of ‘Growing Lendrick Muir’: the project that will see the replacement of the Glendevon section of the building with a striking new wing designed to complement the existing mansion house. This includes increased bedroom and meeting accommodation capacity across two floors, a spacious and accessible entranceway, and a large kitchen/dining space on the ground floor. The result will be a contemporary, sustainable, inclusive building that prepares Lendrick Muir for the next generation!
Whilst planning permission concerns the outside of the building, we have now applied for a building warrant, which ensures the design of the building meets all necessary technical standards.
SU Scotland’s Director of Centres, Paul Bayton, said: “We are delighted to have been granted planning permission; it is a vital step forward for the project. Prayer is now valued for the building warrant application that has been submitted.”
We appreciate your continued support and prayers as we continue this journey.
Prayer point suggestions:
- Thank God that planning permission has been granted.
- Pray that the Building Warrant application process will be smooth.
- Pray for a fruitful response to ongoing fundraising efforts, including applications to trusts and appeal to supporters
