Explore Christmas
With the festive season fast approaching, you may be looking for a resource to help children and young people learn about what Christmas is truly all about. ‘Explore Christmas’ is SU Scotland’s latest Christmas resource, launched for the first time just last year. This creative, effective resource has proven to be popular with schools and churches alike, reaching an estimated 22,000 children and young people last Christmas. The three-episode film series is aimed at primary school-aged children to provide insight into the origins, significance and enduring light of Christmas in a fun and engaging way. Across the episodes, Explore Christmas unpacks ancient prophecies, the surprising circumstances of Jesus’ birth, and the powerful message of hope that continues to shine in our world today.
SU Scotland’s Creative Director, Jenny Hamill, said:
“The three dynamic video episodes feature young hosts, vibrant animation and interviews with school children. This mix of elements captivates children as they learn more about why so many people celebrate at this very special time of year.”
To complement the episodes, we offer:
- A school pack for teachers including lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, quizzes, crafts and a guide showing the links to the first and second level curriculum.
- A church pack with Sunday School lesson plans that include icebreakers, reflective questions and related games and craft activities.
