Youth Worker | Wheel Trust

Salary: £31,210 - £33,442 per annum, dependent on experience, plus generous employer pension contributions and annual leave entitlement
Contract: Full Time FTE (37.5 hours per week); Fixed term for 2 years, with the possibility of extension, depending on funding
Location: Hybrid - West End of Glasgow / home

Who We Are

The Wheel Trust is a registered charity, working in partnership with Scripture Union Scotland, to help young people in the West End of Glasgow to explore and experience the Christian faith. The work will principally be in the primary and secondary schools of the area but will extend to residential establishments, missions and churches.

Key Responsibilities

To lead, develop, and co-ordinate the work of The Wheel Trust
To be actively involved in the life of Hyndland Learning Community
To lead Christmas & Easter workshops in local primary schools
To continue to build relationships with churches, schools, young people and volunteers to help build our schools’ ministry
To work in partnership to build on a developing ministry in the Whiteinch area
To undertake some administration of the Trust operations

Who we are looking for

The successful applicant will have experience of schools' work and Christian ministry with young people; someone who works well with volunteers and is a confident communicator of Biblical truth.

For this post, it is important that you able to demonstrate a commitment to SU Scotland’s ethos, working principles and vision. It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian. The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory PVG Scheme Disclosure.
