WHO WE ARE
Scripture Union Scotland's vision is to see every child and young people of Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus. We are a national charity, with around 120 staff and over 2,000 volunteers. Our activities take place in schools, outdoor activity centres, and churches.
We are seeking a full time Regional Worker to join our Local Ministries Team to develop SU Scotland’s ministry in Lanarkshire working alongside our established Regional Worker. This is as part of the Local Ministries’ West Team, which includes Lanarkshire, Glasgow, East & West Dumbartonshire, Argyle & Bute, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire and Inverclyde, Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway.
- To bring together local ministry hubs, building relationships with churches, schools, young people and potential volunteers as well as developing those existing relationships to help build our schools’ ministry
- To grow involvement in our residential work regionally and nationally, in missions and holiday clubs
- To develop ministry partnership for this post, for prayer and financial support
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The successful applicant will have experience of schools' work and Christian ministry with children and/or young people; someone who has led teams of volunteers and is a confident communicator of biblical truth with a wide range of young people. You should be based within easy reach of Lanarkshire and be prepared to support SU Scotland’s ministry in all parts of the region.
For this post, it is important that you able to demonstrate a commitment to SU Scotland’s ethos, working principles and vision. It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.
