- Location: Hybrid – Glasgow Office/home and regional related travel as required
- Contract: Part time - 0.5 FTE (18.75 hours per week)
- Salary: £14,494 - £16,711 per annum, dependent upon experience, (£28,988 - £33,422 pro rated) plus generous employer pension contributions, annual leave entitlement and Employee Assistance Programme

WHO WE ARE
Scripture Union Scotland's vision is to see every child and young people of Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus. We are a national charity, with around 120 staff and over 2,200 volunteers. Our activities take place in schools, outdoor activity centres, and churches.
As our ministry extends in line with our 2024 – 2027 Strategy, we are seeking a part time HR Adviser to play an integral role as part of our Operations team, based in Glasgow.
PURPOSE
To play a key role in providing best practice HR advice and administration to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the HR department, in line with SU Scotland’s vision and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To provide HR advice and support in line with current employment legislation and best practice
- To manage recruitment campaigns
- To oversee the annual Performance Management cycle
- To maintain and update HR information
- To be involved in HR projects as required
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The successful applicant will have some demonstrable HR experience and ideally be CIPD qualified. Knowledge of current employment legislation and HR practice is essential as well as the ability to build strong relationships with line managers and staff across the team. The successful applicant should possess a track record of excellent administrative and organisational skills and be able to maintain confidentiality.
For this post, it is important that you able to demonstrate a commitment to SU Scotland’s ethos, working principles and vision. It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.
