  4. Christmas Appeal 2024

Could you help light up Scotland one young life at a time?

Statistics show that more young people than ever are not attending church and only 15%[1] of young people believe in God. However, a recent survey from the Barna Group[2] indicates that this generation of young people are the most “Open Generation” meaning they are ‘spiritually open’. They are wanting to explore faith and seek real answers. With that in mind, we see a wonderful opportunity to bring light into these young lives as we continue to offer opportunities for all young people to explore the Bible and respond to the significance of Jesus. We have a big dream to reach all young people with the gospel, but we can’t do it without you. This Christmas, will you help us as we light up Scotland?

If we don’t take the good news of Jesus to this ‘Open Generation’ where will they find themselves in a search for the truth? Many young people are living lives looking for fulfilment, meaning and purpose in the things of this world, unaware of the ultimate love, hope and salvation freely offered to them in Jesus. This really is heart breaking. As young people search for truth in the darkness, we need to be offering them the light of Jesus, through the chance to hear and explore the Bible, and we need to be doing that now!

This Christmas time, will you help us shine the light of Jesus? There’s no better gift you could give this Christmas. Your gift could change a young person’s life forever.

Jo's Story

Give a gift here >

“Without SU, I am not sure I would have found a faith…There would have been no obvious starting point for me...SU has kept me grounded through a lot of stages in my life, regardless of whether I was close to God or far from God at any point, I still showed up to SU Groups and camps and spoke to those involved and it always brought me closer to God. It has always provided a support network for me as well, with people to talk to or be with if I needed any help or just a friend.” Jo, former SU Scotland young person and now staff member at Alltnacriche

Thanks to amazing supporters like you, Jo found the light of Jesus, but we need your help to light up more young lives. It’s heartbreaking to think that the majority of children and young people in Scotland don’t know the incredible gift of Jesus, whom we’re celebrating this time of year.

Will you give a gift today? Any gift, big or small, will help more young people discover God’s love for them.
