Big Celebration is all about reflecting on the past year of ministry and looking forward to the new academic year ahead - we have so much to celebrate and thank God for together. Whether you know lots or little about SU Scotland, we hope your experience of the day is fun, inspiring and engaging.

Programme
Tea, coffee and home baking available from 10:30

11am-12:30pm | Main Session 1
BIBLES OPEN
Worship and Bible teaching with Fiona Stewart and find out more about the impact of young people engaging with the Bible across SU ministry. There will be an opportunity to give towards the International Project supporting ministry in SU Hungary.
12:30pm-2pm | Lunch
1:30pm-2pm | Meet local workers, find out more about local ministry hubs and what’s happening in your local area, and how you could get involved.
2:00pm-4:00pm | Afternoon options
- Enjoy Lendrick Muir activities – king swing, bungee trampoline and bouncy castle, or just get a group of friends together to play football or nukemball.
- From 2pm pop into the Games Hall at some point in the afternoon and join Gordon Roy to try your hand at circus skills.
- Fancy a little friendly competition? Want to test your putting, dribbling or shooting skills? Why not join Jamie, Ewan and Ross under the Gazebo beside the MUGA and putting green to put your skills to the test.
- Join the AGM
- Video gaming is running in the Moubray Meeting Room. Games available are Just Dance 2025, Mario Kart World and FC25, or you can have a go on Beat Saber on VR!
- Catch up with friends in the Wee Celebration Café for a cuppa and cake.
- Grab a coffee or hot chocolate from the Roam Coffee van.
4:00pm-5:30pm | Main Session 2
YOUNG PEOPLE DISCIPLING YOUNG PEOPLE
Join this year’s Gap Year as they host an afternoon of worship and thanksgiving. We’ll be hearing stories of how young people are growing as disciples of Jesus and sharing their faith with their peers. Meet our new Gap Year at the start of their journey and hear from our Young Leaders Development Coordinator.

- 2:00pm-2:50pm | Join the Joyfully Made team to find out more about Bible Journalling and how you can use this creative method to explore and respond to God’s Word with your children’s / youth group, as well as personally.
- 3:00-3:50pm | Join the Joyfully Made team to explore and respond to God’s Word in a creative and colourful way. Bibles Open and gluesticks at the ready! All creative abilities are warmly welcomed to this family friendly session. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Enjoy the beauty of God's creation in the Lendrick Muir grounds, whilst delving into the Bible and reflecting on your journey with God. Life is a journey, and the outdoors is a wonderful place to explore faith together and open the Bible in creative ways.
All are welcome to come and explore the Bible and outdoors with us. Please can any children be accompanied by an adult. Meet Rachel and Bill outside the yurt ready to explore.
This seminar will explore fresh ideas for Bible exploration. Using creativity, curiosity and the collective wisdom in the room we’ll delve into the account of Jesus at the home of Simon the Pharisee in Luke 7. We’ll examine several examples of good creative Bible engagement and have an opportunity to flex our own creative muscles. Come prepared to share your own experiences.
How to engage with God’s Word when reading is a struggle
Come along to:
- discover the barriers some young (and older) people face with reading
- explore resources which can make reading the Bible easier
- celebrate how being intentionally inclusive enriches everyone’s experience
Join Alan Myles, Holidays Manager, and Bruce Lockhart, Missions Development Manager, as well as guests from summer Holidays and Missions, as they share the wonderful ways God has blessed us. Hear firsthand miraculous stories, both big and small, each significant in demonstrating what God is doing. This is a chance to praise God as we humbly testify to what he has done.
Catering
Mealtimes are a great opportunity to catch up with friends and to get to know other members of the SU family, hopefully enjoying the outdoors in beautiful sunshine. There are a number of options. You can bring a packed lunch, find a picnic table, a grassy area, or if you prefer, a spot indoors.
The Wee Celebration Café will be open from 2pm, so why not pop in and catch up with friends over a cuppa and cake.
The Chick-kings van and Casa Di Gelato will be onsite with waffles, gelato and coffee, and Roam Coffee van will also be onsite all day. (Order and pay on the day.)
Lunch and dinner options are available – please pre-book, you will receive a confirmation email and payment will be on arrival on the day at the Lendrick Muir office.
