Ministry at the Margins Lead

T: 01413527635

It is a huge honour to work across SU Scotland, seeking to support and develop our ministry with children and young people who live at the margins.

With a quarter of young people in Scotland living in relative poverty, there is much we need to give our time, attention and resource to in our vision towards them, that is value driven. And yet, poverty is just one aspect of how a young person may experience being marginalised – for others it could be as a result of a parent being in prison, in being a refugee, because of their additional support needs, or maybe due to the colour of their skin, to name a few.

The whole of Scripture points and compels us towards the poor, disempowered and oppressed. I am committed to helping position us as an organisation and as a group of individuals, not to unhelpfully and arrogantly look down on those deemed less fortunate, but in compassion and humility walking alongside to listen, learn and together grow into who Christ has called us to be.

If you have ideas or thoughts as to how we could develop opportunities, supporting local churches in this mission, I would love to hear from you. I would also greatly value your support – be that prayerfully and/or financially. This page gives opportunity to do just that.
