gap year 2017-18

Ross is an artist at heart spending much of his spare time on personal projects in portraiture or going for walks to find subjects for his photography. He volunteers at his local birds of prey centre and is a regular attender at many of our events for Senior pupils.

Ross chose to do a gap year with SU as he liked the idea of serving young people in their communities by sharing his faith. He knows he will learn a lot too! He loves the fun and activities SU offers and the chance it has given him to develop his beliefs and some amazing friendships and is passionate about helping others do the same.

Ross is excited about learning more about the Bible, developing his confidence and independence and working alongside the organisation he knows so well. He hopes to gain leadership skills in working with young people and learn creative ways of teaching about Christianity. We are so excited that he will be joining us!

Ross has applied for a gap:fusion year where he will spend six months with our regional workers in the West of Scotland serving in schools through SU groups, assemblies and wider events with churches and the rest of his time working at one of our activity centres helping organise our very popular schools residentials programme and of course being part of plenty of SU Holidays!
