gap year 2017-18

Ronan hails from Aberdeenshire and is a big fan of Star Wars. He has built his own computer for gaming and has been running an Alpha course at his school. He really loves music and spends a lot of time playing his Cajon drum.

Ronan first found out about gap year at the Big Celebration and was inspired by the chance to spend a year with the organisation that ran the SU holidays that mean so much to him. With hopes of a future in youth ministry, the gap year seemed a great place to test his calling and gain experience before university.

Ronan is looking forward to serving God in a new environment and challenging himself as he meets new people. Through this he hopes to grow in Bible knowledge and develop his faith as he learns by working alongside others.

We are excited to see where this journey will take him!

Ronan has chosen a gap:church placement working in partnership with Kirkliston Community Church, just outside Edinburgh. He will be part of the ministry team , serving mainly with the youth and children’s work, volunteering in local schools and getting to grips with some of the many different skills and abilities needed to serve God within a busy local congregation.
