Hi there,

Thanks for stopping off in Stirling and Clackmannanshire to read something of our work in this area. I work in this region alongside my North Team Leader responsibilities within SU Scotland. Volunteers lead school groups, residentials and many other activities across the region, and I have the privilege of supporting their work and initiating other aspects of SU Scotland ministry in the area.

Below is a snap shot of what goes on as we rebuild after COVID restrictions. If you want to get a fuller picture, please register for my termly newsletter, which you can do on this page. Also there are so many opportunities to further the Good News, we always need more volunteers! If time is too limited to volunteer, you can support the region financially on this page too. The more people involved in volunteering and giving - the more we can do!

Schools work

Thanks to volunteers, around one in three schools in the area had an SU Group where young people can explore the Bible and respond to the significance of Jesus. We're now looking to start and restart groups across the region: we are looking to God, looking to head teachers for permission and looking to local churches and school staff for the Christians who can lead these groups.

Prayer

Prayer will be the difference as we continue to build this work. Ask to be put on our termly prayer list to make your prayers more informed, or I would love an invitation to your church prayer meeting and share what is happening.

Residential events

We normally hold two residential weekends in the year for young people in the Stirling and Clackmannanshire area. The dates for 2023 are 27th-29th January and 26th-28th May. Both events will be on the Weekends page of the SU Holidays website in due course.

I'm also involved in other events such as the GO Conference, Easter at Scoughall, Basecamp Kingscross, Creative Arts Holiday, Watersports Holiday and the Commission Review Weekend. Information about these events also comes up on the SU Holidays website throughout the year.

Working with Churches

It's the way that Scripture Union works all around the world: with churches. In our region this includes church groups coming to our weekends, working together to take local schools on Christmas and Easter Journeys, subsidising young people to SU Holidays, seeing their young people trained and inspired on our COmMISSION Programme, running a Holiday Club or Mission with SU Scotland involvement or materials produced by Scripture Union.
