For those of you following progress on the staff housing project - be encouraged (or join the general sense of relief) - we've made it! Water was finally connected on the 14th and by Friday we had eleven contractors on site checking plumbing, finalising electrical checks, commissioning the solar panels, putting the carpets down and backfilling all the craters from the joints at the new water main connection. Work continued over the weekend in the final push to complete the houses.
Following a visit from building standards on Monday, we received confirmation that our completion certificates were being issued on the 20th. All the washing machines, cookers, etc are now installed and the keys have now been handed over and Rhoda, Morven and Alan (and his family). They will be moving in at a time that suits them in the coming days - but there is already at least one Christmas tree up! This time last year the project was out to tender, and we were unsure whether we would have the funds available to build one or two units. We are humbled by the goodness of God and his people who have enabled this project, and we give thanks for them.
