RESPOND RWANDA 2019

Updates from the trip!

Day 12 update:

Introducing: AIMEE

Hi everyone! My name is Aimee and this is my 2nd time back in Africa - first time as a kid growing up and now on team as one of the Assistant Team Leaders.

Our kids camp has officially started - we all as a team expected 120 kids however an incredible 220 showed up - a blessing yet a big challenge all at the same time! We are so glad that they’re here ready to learn more about Jesus!

Prayers for continued strength and energy for us as a team & staff here at SU Rwanda would be greatly appreciated!

Day 11 update:

Today was the team’s day off and we went to another market - definitely becoming pros at haggling for a good price! A few of us managed to purchase some African clothing which you can see modelled in the pictures 🙂

The afternoon was spent prepping for our kids camp that officially starts tomorrow till Saturday! Some fantastic ideas, games, crafts and songs prepped for the kids - it’s going to be great! Please keep us in your prayers for the next 3.5 days when we are with the kids - we are expecting around 100 kids each day!

Day 10 update (we are officially halfway!)

Introducing: ELEANOR

Hi, my name is Eleanor and I feel so blessed to be part of this team. The past few days have been extremely busy. We have been helping to run a teen camp at the compound including sharing our testimonies, singing songs and playing games. It has been really encouraging to meet lots of teenagers who are so enthusiastic to learn more about God and it has been great to be able to discuss some challenging topics with them over the weekend. We have been spending the rest of our time preparing for the children’s camp which starts on Wednesday.

Today we visited a local market in the morning. It was great to see all the items of clothing being made in front of you and to be able to explore a different part of Kigali. It was definitely a great experience. We spent part of the afternoon with the vulnerable children where we shared the story of Zaccheaus and played with them. For the remainder of the afternoon we continued to prepare for the children’s camp which starts on Wednesday.
