As the school term begins, and thoughts turn to restarting SU Groups and other work in schools, I thought I'd share a story from an SU Group leader in my area. She had been encouraged to hear that a girl who had been part of an SU Group she led around fifteen years ago had recently become a Christian! It is very encouraging to be reminded that God will continue his work in the lives of the young people we work with, even long after we have contact with them. Who knows what impact the SU Group had on this girl all those years ago and what part that played in her coming to faith now? The group leader shared with me that this had prompted her to pray for others she has worked with in SU Groups over the years.

Often we may not see the impact of the work we do in schools but a verse I often quote at Bible Alive training is Isaiah 55:11 - "It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it." Let's hold to that promise as we pray for the work in schools this term. Give thanks that there are many opportunities for God's word to go out and that we have the promise that it will bear fruit whether we see that now, years in the future, or not until we are in heaven. Let's pray too for new opportunities and especially for schools that are currently without any Christian input.
