I was asked the other day if there was a verse in the Bible that I keep going back to. There are many, but this is one I have often gone back to since I first went along to Scripture Union when I was in P6:
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105
Where would we be without God's guiding hand! A member of the SU Scotland Board spoke to me at the Big Celebration last August and mentioned the construction of a university campus in America. All the buildings and access roads were completed, but no footpaths.
The university opened and, for a period of time, the authorities observed where staff and students walked. That's where they then constructed footpaths. So it is with our walk with God. Our task is to find out where he is walking and journey with him. It was hard in September when no one was appointed to succeed me as Missions Coordinator, but fantastic when we discovered in October that the post could be advertised as full-time and Tim Raynes was appointed in February. God clearly had everything planned. Thank you all for the prayers, time and financial support you have given to me and to SU Missions over the last five and a half years. It's been a huge privilege for me to share this journey with you.
Written by James Gill. James has served with us as staff member for over 5 years, and now returns to the join the ranks of volunteers! Thank you for your dedication and faithfulness to SU Scotland, and to the God we serve!
