Scripture Union Scotland is a registered charity that helps all of Scotland’s children and young people explore the significance of Jesus Christ for their lives. We currently have a vacancy for an Activities Instructor to be based at our Alltnacriche centre, near Aviemore. Alltnacriche is set in 17 acres of grounds with accommodation for 58 guests.

Working as part of the staff team you will deliver the range of activities being offered by the centre. You will provide activity instruction and maintain the activity equipment and infrastructure. Working with the Senior Instructor you will help to develop the range and quality of activities we offer.

During school residential experiences you will be involved in all aspects of caring for our guests, including some evening work, and you will be required to hold the duty phone overnight once a week. You will also be involved in the maintenance of our facilities and equipment.

Applicants for this post should have at least 2 years experience of instructing activities and hold at least two NGB Awards (preferably Scottish Cycling Level 2, SPA or ML) and training towards another NGB as well as holding a current first aid certificate. Further NGB awards in the following would be beneficial: Canoeing (open boat or kayak), climbing, mountain biking, hill-walking or archery. A full UK Driving Licence is essential (preferably with D1 + E).

For this post, it is important that you are committed to SU Scotland’s ethos, working principles and vision and are able to demonstrate this through your commitment and motivation.  It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.
