Salary:    £25,514 – £27,322 per annum (dependent on experience) plus pension scheme


Scripture Union Scotland's vision is to see the children and young people of Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus. We are a national charity, with around 100 staff and over 2,000 volunteers.  Our activities take place in schools, outdoor activity centres, and churches.

We are seeking a full-time Regional Worker to deliver SU ministry across Renfrewshire and surrounding area from Inverclyde to parts of the southside of Glasgow. Working closely with local volunteers, the worker will be expected to

  • develop and oversee SU Scotland’s ministry in schools, through the formal and informal curriculum though SU groups and RO events.
  • play a leading part in developing weekend and week-long residentials for young people.
  • working with local churches to promote church & community mission
  • help children and young people be disciples of Jesus.

We are looking for a candidate with experience of schoolswork and Christian ministry with children and/or young people; someone who has led teams of volunteers and is a confident communicator of Biblical truth with a wide age range of young people.

The candidate will work from the Glasgow office and be prepared to work collaboratively with other staff across the wider region. The post will be assigned some administrative support.

For this post, it is important that you able to demonstrate a commitment to SU Scotland’s ethos, working principles and vision. It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.

The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory PVG Scheme Disclosure.
