Salary: £15,308 - £16, 393 per annum (dependent on experience) plus pension scheme (£25,514 – £27,322 FTE)
Scripture Union Scotland's vision is to see the children and young people of Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus. We are a national charity, with around 100 staff and over 2,000 volunteers. Our activities take place in schools, outdoor activity centres, and churches.
We are seeking a part-time Regional Worker to deliver SU ministry across Dundee and Angus area from rural areas to the urban priority areas of the city. Working closely with local volunteers, the worker will be expected to
- develop and oversee SU Scotland’s ministry in schools, through the formal and informal curriculum through SU groups and RO events.
- play a leading part in developing weekend and week-long residentials for young people.
- working with local churches to promote church & community mission
- help children and young people be disciples of Jesus.
We are looking for a candidate with experience of schoolswork and Christian ministry with children and/or young people; someone who has led teams of volunteers and is a confident communicator of Biblical truth with a wide age range of young people.
The candidate should be willing to work from an office base in the area, and be prepared to support and grow SU ministry in all parts of the region. Some part time administrative support is provided from our Aberdeen office.
For this post, it is important that you able to demonstrate a commitment to SU Scotland’s ethos, working principles and vision. It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.
