Part time. Variable. Working hours will normally be within Tuesday – Friday the times of 7:30am – 10:30am.

Fixed term: Early March 2017 – end June 2017

Salary: National living wage or minimum wage applies, according to age.

We have a fixed term vacancy for a Catering Team Member based at our Christian activity centre at Alltnacriche, just outside Aviemore. Alltnacriche regularly hosts school groups participating in residential experiences, SU Holidays and youth groups enjoying weekend breaks. We offer a range of outdoor activities to our guests, and use outdoor classroom concepts with schools.

Classroom Outdoors is our highly regarded programme of school residential experiences and we welcome 700–800 pupils from around 30 schools to Alltnacriche each year.

This short-term role is to support our cook in the preparation and serving of breakfast, preparation of packed lunches, preparing ingredients for evening meal and operating the dish washer / pot wash. Our ideal candidate will be timely, have good standards of personal hygiene, have experience of working in a catering environment, able to work quickly and efficiently and have a good manner with children and teachers. As part of the role you will be asked to complete some elementary food hygiene training.

Our anticipated work pattern will be Tuesday – Friday, between the hours of 7.30am and 10.30am, although there will be some slight variation around hours which will be discussed with the candidate.

Scripture Union Scotland is a registered charity that aims to help all of Scotland’s children and young people explore the significance of Jesus Christ for their lives. The centre supports SU Scotland’s strategy – facilitating residential events that help and enable young people in Scotland to explore the Christian faith.

The successful applicant will be required to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Scheme and the appointment will be subject to a satisfactory PVG Scheme Disclosure.
