  • Salary range: £27,482 - £29,431 (dependent on experience) - Plus generous pension scheme

Scripture Union Scotland's vision is to see every child and young person in Scotland exploring the Bible and responding to the significance of Jesus.  We are a national charity, with almost 100 staff and over 2,000 volunteers.  Our activities take place in schools, at outdoor activity centres, online, at churches and in the community.

Every year, hundreds of children and their families hear the Good News about Jesus through SU Scotland missions and holiday clubs. Across the country, in church halls, on beaches and out in the community, dedicated teams of volunteers can be seen helping young people discover God’s love, often for the first time. As the Missions Development Manager, you will play a key role in growing this ministry, in partnership with local churches.

You will bring vision and enthusiasm for seeing new missions start, be committed to making partnerships work and be an effective catalyst for Kingdom growth. You will be an experienced and inspirational leader, able to support and encourage existing mission leaders and train up a new generation of volunteers. You will be experienced in running missions or holiday clubs, have excellent networking and communication skills, and be passionate about seeing children and young people coming to faith in Jesus Christ.

This post would be for an initial appointment of three years, which may be extended subject to funding.

For this post, it is important that you are committed to SU Scotland’s ethos, working principles and vision and are able to demonstrate this through your commitment and motivation.  It is also an Occupational Requirement (Equality Act - part 1, schedule 9), that the post-holder is a committed Christian.

The appointment will be subject to a satisfactory PVG Scheme Disclosure.
