'Starting Blocks' is a phrase that will be frequently heard in
2012, especially in August. For us, it is our chosen title for this
year's SU Missions Training Day, chosen to convey the pent‐up
energy and enthusiasm that is coiled up, ready for release, as we
make our
way to the start of another summer of Mission. Training is
critical.
Starting Blocks offers an action‐packed day, full of great
opportunities. Come and be inspired for Christian service, learn
practical, new ideas for your Mission and network with others who
are involved in mission to children and young people. We look
forward to having you with us.
Guest Speaker
We are delighted that Lynn Alexander is our main speaker. Lynn
was a children and family pastor first in Queen's Park Baptist
Church in Glasgow then in Morningside Baptist Church in Edinburgh.
She has recently taken 6 months out to research and write her first
book on reaching and discipling children and families. Her passion
is to see church as a place where children are welcomed and
discipled and given lifelong opportunities to experience the power
and excitement that life with Jesus brings. She is convinced that
the nation is to be ready for a flood of children and families
enquiring about faith and looking to become part of the church
community.
