Volunteer Training: Urban

SU Scotland uses the term Motiv8 to identify training events that are specifically aimed at those working with children and young people in urban communities. Each year we run a national training event on the first full weekend in February. Every second year this is a residential weekend event at Lendrick Muir and the alternate years are day events.

In addition to the national event, training can be organised for an individual group, church, or on a local area basis in response to specific requests. This service however will not be available until a new Urban Ministries Co-ordinator is appointed. We will post details on this page in due course.

At every Motiv8 training event we have run, the vast majority of the feedback has been about how encouraging and helpful it was to meet and get to know others in similar situations. At these training events we aim to provide high quality, relevant sessions but lots of informal learning and encouragement takes place at the meal table and coffee breaks.
