Training
Being prepared...
Working with children and young people is an exhilarating experience; often surprising, never predictable, sometimes demanding, always requiring effort. We all face similar challenges whether in school, church, or during holidays.
SU Scotland aims to give you the opportunity to:
- learn new skills
- share fresh ideas
- be encouraged and inspired
- think through the big issues in children's ministry
- pick up the latest resources
We want children and young people to hear the Good News about Jesus Christ and develop a dynamic relationship with him - investing in training means that we can all do this more effectively. The majority of trainers are SU staff or volunteers who have direct and current experience in work with children and young people.
SU Holidays Activity Training
Training sessions for people leading sessions in Archery and Trail Cycling, and training in First Aid and Food Hygiene.

Urban Training
Equipped to Transform is part of SU Scotland's Urban Ministry, and is a joint event run each February by SU Scotland, Tearfund the Church of Scotland Priority Group. It aims to equip and inspire individuals and churches to build inclusive communities that welcome and value disadvantaged children and young people.
SU Scotland also seeks to encourage and support local churches in their communities. John Nonhebel, the Urban Ministries Leader, is available to help you deliver training to equip your teams in urban children's and youth work. Please contact him for more information at urban@suscotland.org.uk.
Missions Training
Every year in May we hold a training day for missions team member, especially those joining a team for the first time. It's a great opportunity to meet others from the team you will be serving in, and to share ideas, experiences and best practice with others from around the country.
