About Volunteering

SU Scotland - Volunteers and Training - About Volunteering

What can YOU bring to the team?

The most important people in SU Scotland are the 2,000+ volunteers who give their time and energy each year to making the ministry happen!

We'd love to help you volunteer in a way that suits you; whether that's helping at a holiday, mission or weekend, running a local school SU group, helping with site maintenance, driving the minibus, being a photographer, representing SU Scotland at events and festivals, using your business skills in an advisory role or helping in the office with administration.

SU Scotland's activities are almost entirely staffed by volunteers during the school terms and in the holidays. There are loads of opportunities to get involved with school groups, after-school clubs, church based holiday clubs, holiday missions, weekends away and week-long holidays throughout the year.

We're looking for people who enjoy spending time with children and for people who have skills to work in a supporting role in the background. You might be able to work directly with young people in a small group, be part of a catering team, drive a minibus, instruct activities or a whole host of other jobs that need to be done!

Through its activities, SU Scotland has contact with thousands of children and young people each year and this means that we also need thousands of volunteers to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ into communities and schools: really to wherever children and young people are.

Volunteering with SU Scotland makes a difference to the lives of children and young people - it's never dull, often inspiring, always challenging.
