Urban Prayer
Children growing up in areas of multiple deprivation desperately need your prayers. When young people grow up without the security of a stable family background, it is not uncommon to see them trapped in a cycle of poverty, where they can experience:
• Exposure to high risk behavior such as drug
taking and alcohol abuse
• Family breakdown and intervention of local
authorities
SU Scotland recognises God's special concern for the poor and is
committed to ensuring that its ministry seeks to reach those living
in communities of need.
Pray for an urban school
SU Scotland has identified 226 primary schools and 44 secondary schools across the country as urban schools. Urban schools are the top 10% of Scottish schools with the highest percentages of pupils receiving free school meals.
27 (13%) of these primary schools, and 15 (34%) of these
secondary schools are being prayed for through the Pray for
Schools Scotland Network. We would love to see this increase,
and if you or your church would like to pray for an urban school,
please contact SU Scotland's Prayer
Co-ordinator, who will help you to identify your local urban
school, or help you adopt an urban school that needs prayer.
We'd love to hear your stories of answered prayer, please share yours
with us.
