Schools Prayer Network

Introduction

Young people spend a large chunk of their lives in schools, and schools have a significant impact in shaping who they are.  They are forming opinions about the world and what they believe;  according to statistics, 86% of us come to faith under the age of 16!  Wouldn’t it be great therefore if there were Christians praying for every school in Scotland, and for the young people and staff that are in them?  

That is the vision of the Schools Prayer Network; that throughout Scotland there would be prayer both in schools and for schools; that pupils, teachers, churches and individuals would take time to discover the needs of their local school community and bring these to the Lord.

The Schools Prayer Network exists to support and encourage people who pray for their school community.  Please register now if you can commit yourself to regular prayer as an individual, as a group, or as a church for your local school(s).  You will receive regular Updates with news, information and points for prayer, plus resources for three events throughout the year - Strictly Come Praying, Back to School with God Sunday and Pray Day for Schools.

SPN Events

As well as being a network of people praying, the SPN organise and participate in key events during the year...

• Strictly Come Praying

Strictly Come Praying has become a “must” for many of Scotland’s young people;  this year almost 600 young people will come together in two venues both to learn about prayer, and to pray. [More Info ]

• Back to School With God

An opportunity for churches to hold a special service to affirm support for the young people and school staff in their local community, and to pray that they will see God at work in their schools. [More Info ]

• Pray for Schools Day

Pray Day is a Europe-wide day of prayer for schools which takes place each November. [More Info ]
