This post provides the exciting opportunity to become part of the Senior Management Team of Scripture Union Scotland, where you will be involved in helping to direct the work of this established and growing organisation.
Leading the Support Services team, your job will be to direct core support functions within Scripture Union Scotland finance, IT, communications and support-raising and to oversee legal and property-related issues.
Candidates for the post will have:
~ A relevant professional qualification across or in one of the core areas
~ Senior level management experience
~ A proven track record in leading and motivating your colleagues
~ An enthusiasm for the aims and purpose of SU Scotland
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
As this role will require some travel within Scotland a full current driving licence and use of a vehicle is essential.

Working for our GO (Glasgow Outreach) Team Leader and Glasgow based Regional staff you will provide them with administrative and secretarial support for their work with volunteers, young peopleâ€s groups and residential events.
You will have excellent organisational skills and have a good level of competency in Microsoft Office, especially Word (essential) and Access (desirable). You will also have a good telephone manner, excellent interpersonal skills and ideally you will also have some administrative experience.

We are recruiting a new member for our Catering and House Team at Lendrick Muir. Professional experience in catering is not essential as full training and guidance will be provided. As part of this role you may also be required to assist the Housekeeping team. For this post we will provide you with food and accommodation plus a weekly allowance.
Participating fully in the life and ministry of the Centre, you will attend staff fellowship meetings and as work permits come to our daily staff morning prayer meetings.

A team player you will have an interest in DIY and will possibly have undergone craft training in some discipline but this is not essential as on-the-job training will be provided.

This new post has been created as part of our continuing commitment to and investment in our staff. Our current HR Adviser leaves the organisation in early 2008, having set up our HR department. This provides a fresh opportunity for someone to develop the HR function even further.
Reporting to our Chief Executive, advising our Directors and Board, you will have overall responsibility for the delivery of an effective HR service to the organisation. A key element of this role will include project management of new HR systems and initiatives in line with and in support of the strategic development of the organisation.
Ideally you will be CIPD qualified with several years of generalist HR experience in a commercial or charity setting. A self-motivated, team player you will bring proven leadership and managerial skills. As the post-holder will be expected to develop and expand this role, critically, you will be an individual possessing both the potential and aspiration to operate at a senior level.
You will be computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office packages and be familiar with HR management systems. As this role will require some travel within Scotland a full current driving licence and use of a vehicle is essential.

We currently have a vacancy for an Activities Instructor to be based at our Lendrick Muir Centre, near Kinross. Lendrick Muir is set in 120 acres of grounds with accommodation for 150 guests.
Working as part of the staff team you will deliver the range of activities being offered by the centre. You will provide activity instruction and maintain the activity equipment and infrastructure. Working with the Senior Instructor you will help to develop the range and quality of activities we offer. As part of the wider programme team you will be involved in providing educational activity breaks which will involve some evening work.
Applicants for this post should have at least 2 years experience of instructing activities and hold an NGB Award in climbing or trail cycling as well as a current first aid certificate. Further NGB awards in the following would be beneficial: canoeing (open boat or kayak), hill-walking, dinghy sailing, windsurfing, archery and powerboat. A full UK Driving License (preferably with D1 + E) would also be beneficial.

We are seeking to appoint someone with a heart for prayer and for the children and young people of Scotland. This exciting part-time post will give someone the opportunity to stimulate prayer for the children and young people of Scotland as well as being involved in helping children and young people to develop in prayer.
The post will involve administering and growing the Schools Prayer Network, organising prayer events and producing the SU Scotland Prayer Diary. Working with the CEO and in close partnership with existing prayer networks and other Christian organisations, the Prayer Coordinator will seek to encourage churches, individuals and interdenominational groups to pray for all the children and young people of Scotland with a special emphasis on praying for local schools and holiday activities.
