Although we are delighted if this material is used outside Scotland, for administrative purposes, this register is for Scottish-based users only.
‘Back to School with God Sunday’ is an opportunity for churches to hold a special service to affirm support for the young people and school staff in their local community, and to pray that they will see God at work in their schools.
As last year, we will provide ideas on how to run the service, introductory activities, an all age talk, PowerPoint presentations and material for children.
Sunday 31st August may not be suitable for everyone - please feel free to hold this service on another day.
This year’s ‘Back to School with God’ theme is ‘God is in this place’. It’s taken from Jacob’s story in the Old Testament* when he realised that no matter his circumstances, the Lord was there with him. This is a great encouragement as our young people start another school year.
Make this a beginning of an on-going commitment to pray faithfully for the schools in your
community.
