Ignite

Introduction

ignite is SU Scotland's next generation youth website and social network for secondary-aged teenagers. Public users can Engage, Seek, Delve and Play in ignite's four public areas, while members can Connect with friends old and new in the site's private community area.

Membership is on an invite-only basis and is available only to secondary-aged teenagers who have attended either a SU Holiday or a senior residential weekend.

ignite's aim is to (a) facilitate the formation of a safe online social community for secondary-aged teenagers that is characterised by an atmosphere of discipleship and support, fun and encouragement, and (b) communicate the significance of Jesus for this generation in a way that is postmodern in context, expression and theology.

Introducing Steve Hall

Steve Hall is SU Scotland's Youth Website Development Worker. His role is to help develop ignite, write and commission new content, manage the day to day running of the site and interact online with the young people. For those of you who know SU Scotland's work well you could describe him as an Online Regional Worker; others may find it helpful to think of him as an online youth worker / webmaster.
