Hi, I'm Gavin Thomson and I am the SU worker for West
Edinburgh.
As the es-team worker for West Edinburgh I'm responsible for
looking after the Scripture Union work in schools in that part of
the city. But it's not just me (just as well!!) who is doing
the work - there are loads of volunteers working in our schools;
leading SU groups, helping in classrooms and in other roles too, as
well as many people praying and financially supporting the
work.
The schools that I cover in the west of the city are:

Although work in schools is a key part of the work it's not all
I get up to. Throughout the year you might also find me
leading a weekend camp or a beach mission for example. All of
these activities are designed to help young people to explore the
Bible and respond to the significance of Jesus. However, they
require people with a whole range of skills to enable them to
