Churches
Our desire is to work in partnership with local churches across Scotland, and there are many ways that we can support your ministry with children and young people in your community:

Schools
We're passionate about encouraging and equipping churches to work with and support their local schools. Below are some of the ways that your church can get involved in your local school:
>> Serve Your Local School initiative
This is a new initiative that will focus on helping churches to find of serving their local school.
>> Bible Alive
Bible Alive is an exciting programme which teaches children in P5-7 the whole story line of the Bible in a series of interactive multi-media lessons. Whilst primarily used in schools, it has also been used by many churches and children's clubs.
>> Back to School with God Service
School can be a difficult place for pupils and also teachers. Every August we encourage churches to hold a Back to School with God Service before the start of the new academic year. This is an ideal opportunity to have a service to affirm support for young people and school staff, and encourage ongoing commitment to pray for them.Pray for Schools Scotland
Wouldn't it be great if there were Christians praying for every
school in Scotland, and for the young people and staff that are in
them?
That is the vision of Pray for Schools Scotland; that throughout
Scotland there would be prayer both in schools and for schools;
that pupils, teachers, churches and individuals would take time to
discover the needs of their local school community and bring these
to the Lord.
>> Pray Day for Schools
Pray day is a Europe-wide day of prayer which takes place on the third Tuesday of November each year, specifically focussing on prayer for local schools.

Your Young people
Why not send some of your young people on our holidays and training programmes? We're keen to see young people equipped in order to serve their church, schools and local communities.
>> SU Holidays
With over 40 holidays across Scotland throughout the Easter, summer and October breaks, these are great opportunities to send your young people on an action-packed week where they will make great friends, learn more about the Bible and grow in their faith.
You can make group bookings for every holiday so why not send your young people together? Some churches have also chosen to sponsor one of the holidays and fill it up with young people from their church and the local community.
Want to go with your young people? Why not join the team as a volunteer?
>> COmMISSION
COmMISSION is our short-term missions programme for those in S5 and above. It includes a week (or long weekend) of training, a week or more of placement at an SU Holiday or mission, and a weekend review to share experiences and work out the next steps. It is excellent for equipping young people for leadership roles, and churches benefit from the training and experience that the young people gain through this programme as they seek to put their skills into practise.
>> Go Conferences
The Go Conferences are 4 days in October that are packed with
Bible teaching, activities, seminars and time to relax with
friends:
Go LIVE is for S4 pupils getting ready to make a
stand for what they believe and live out their faith at
school.
Go MAD is for S5 & S6 pupils; those wanting
to make a difference in their school, community and church.
>> Strictly Come Praying
Strictly Come Praying is our national youth prayer event which attracts over 400 young people every March. It teaches young people all about prayer and has a selection of seminars to help put ideas into practise.

Mission
Each year we run around 30 missions in parternship with local churches - would your church like to run a mission during the Easter, summer or October holidays?

Adult Training
>> Missions
Each year we run a missions training day for all those who will be involved in a missions team. The training covers all elements of running a mission, from arts and crafts to reaching families in your community. It's also an excellent opportunity to meet others involved in missions and share ideas and experiences.
>> Beauty for Ashes
Does your church work vulnerable children and young people? Join us for our annual event Beauty for Ashes, a day of interactive training and learning for people with a heart to see the lives of vulnerable children and young people transformed.

Visit Centres
Our two centres, Lendrick Muir and Alltnacriche, provide the ideal location for church trips. There's plenty of on-site activities to keep your children and young people (and adults!) entertained, and the expansive grounds provide a tranquil environment for some time away from the busyness of life.
