Fundraising
All our fundraisers play an essential part in helping to deliver our ministry. Without your help, we simply cannot take up all the opportunities available to us - your contribution really does make a difference.
You can choose to support one of the national projects, or allocate your funds to a local ministry. For more information on this please visit our Allocations page
Our current national projects are:
- Urban Appeal
- Serve Your Local School Appeal
- Holiday Sponsorship Appeal
- Lendrick Muir Development Appeal
We have gathered together exciting resources, including testimonies of those who've paved the way to enthuse you. We hope that their example will inspire you and demonstrate what can be done. Can you go further? Perhaps you can think of a new idea…

New Fundraising Pack
We're excited to launch our brand new Fundraising Pack in aid of the Lendrick Muir Development Appeal.
Host your own 'Come dine with me' event, get your youth doing wild and wacky challenges, hold an auction, run a marathon, organise a football tournament...
We've put together a whole bunch of resources and ideas that we hope will inspire individuals, churches and youth groups to fundraise on our behalf.

Facing the Rapids - Andy Malcolm
"In August I went white water rafting and helped to raise over £2,000 for the Holiday Sponsorship Appeal.
The event was arranged by Christian Men Together, avid
supporters of the ministry that SU Scotland is doing, and over 45
people joined in.
It was definitely a fun and exciting way to raise some sponsorship
money. The rafting started off on a calm section of the River Tay
where the instructors soon found a number of interesting ways to
get everyone out of the raft and into the water. Methods varied
from walking around the outside of the raft using the paddles as
supports, to attempting a 'wheelie', where at least one entire crew
ended up in the water as their raft flipped over.
The white water part of the river was intimading - rapids look
very different from the shore than they do when you're about to go
down them - but exhilirating and so much fun. A great
day!"
Big Bike Challenge - Bill Chalmers
The Big Bike Challenge is an annual event where our supporters tackle 120+ miles of challenging terraine that links our two Activity Centres, Alltnacriche and Lendrick Muir.
After the cancellation of the 2010 Big Bike Challenge, one biker
decided he would take up the challenge on his own, raising over
£300 towards the development of our centres.
Bill Chalmers was part of the 2009 Big Bike Challenge, and this
year he was looking forward to completing the trip once
again. With enthusiasm and commitment he continued with the
challenge, setting off from Alltnacriche on Friday 20th August for
the gruelling first stretch. He reached Lendrick Muir on Saturday,
tired but satisfied, where he was welcomed by friends and family at
the Big Celebration.
We are planning to have the Big Bike Challenge back again next
year, details will be available on the website in
2011.
